I was extremely critical (and remain so) of the Remington Allen Organ “Duel Use” ordinance. What began as a worthy task of creating our townships first much needed township serving mixed use ordinance devolved into building an ordinance to suit a sketch plan. The process was backwards. Smart growth needs wholesale buy in. Without it you get the Allen Organ proposal. A smart growth sham. 200 apartments crammed with a supermarket that funnels all the traffic onto one intersection.
